Firm History
Joseph A. Sherman 1929-1997
Joe was known throughout the legal community as a gentleman lawyer: tenacious in the representation of his clients, deferential to the judges before whom he practiced, and gracious to his adversaries. He set a high bar for those who followed him. His leadership brought the Firm to prominence not only in Missouri and Kansas, but in the national defense bar. In the years since Joe left the Firm, our lawyers have built on Joe’s legacy, attaining leadership positions in Defense Research Institute, the International Association of Defense Counsel and the American Board of Trial Advocates, as well as the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, the Kansas City Claims Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. We reflect his excellence in the courtroom, and we train young lawyers to follow the example he set for us. At Sherman Taff Bangert Thomas & Coronado, P.C., we strive to honor Joe’s memory and emulate his character and leadership. Even as the practice of law has changed, his bedrock values guide us to become better Counselors, Advocates and Partners with our clients. |
